HYPERBARIC OXYGEN THERAPY

(HBOT) involves breathing pure oxygen in a pressurized environment. In a Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Chamber, the air pressure is increased 2 to 3 times higher than normal air pressureUnder these conditions, your lungs can gather much more oxygen than would be possible breathing pure oxygen at normal air pressure. This extra oxygen helps fight bacteria and triggers the release of substances called growth factors and stem cells, which promotes healing.

 HBOT benefits include:

  • Promotes wound-healing by bringing oxygen-rich plasma to tissue starved for oxygen.

  • Prevents reperfusion injury.

  • Helps block the action of harmful bacteria and strengthens the body's immune system.

  • Increases the number of stem cells in circulation throughout the body.

  • HBOT encourages the formation of new collagen and new skin cells.

  • Allows oxygen to cross over into the brain, thus increasing the production and availability of neurotransmitters.

  • Eliminates areas of hypoxia by stimulating capillary growth.

  • Offers anti-inflammatory effects on the body, such as joint inflammation.

    7. Tissue Regeneration: By promoting the growth of new blood vessels and collagen, HBOT helps regenerate damaged tissues and promotes overall tissue health.
    8. Oxygenates Body Tissues: HBOT saturates body tissues with oxygen, even in areas with reduced blood flow, which can be beneficial for conditions like diabetic foot ulcers or non-healing wounds.
    9. Anti-Aging Benefits: HBOT can improve skin elasticity, reduce wrinkles, and promote a youthful appearance by stimulating collagen production and increasing blood flow to the skin.
    10. Wellness and Longevity: Regular HBOT sessions can contribute to overall well-being and longevity by supporting cellular health, reducing oxidative stress, and enhancing vitality.
  • What are the contraindications of Hyperbaric Oxygenation Treatment?

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy only has as an absolute contraindication: untreated or spontaneous pneumothorax and pulmonary bullae. Relative contraindications should be evaluated by the doctor at the first consultation: unhealed tympanic perforation, chemotherapy with certain medications (bleomycin, cisplatin, doxorubicin, disulfiram) performed on the same day of the Hyperbaric Chamber session and the use of a technology pacemaker ancient.
